Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian
4th St. and Independence Ave. SW, Washington, District of Columbia 20013
Join us for an unforgettable evening dance party on the museum's Welcome Plaza! As the sun sets, grab a glow stick and groove to music spun by DJ Little Bacon Bear. Refreshments and food will be available for purchase from Abunai food truck and in the Mitsitam Espresso Bar. If dancing’s not your thing, browse through the galleries—the museum will be open until midnight!

If you prefer to celebrate on the earlier side, the museum will host «Celebrate the Sun» from 3 to 9 p.m. With the exhibition “The Great Inka Road” as the theme, the museum celebrates Inti Raymi, the festival of the sun, with Andean music and dance. Make your own llama pendant (3 to 7 p.m.) or watercolor luminary (7 to 9 p.m.) at make-and-take stations. Learn how to dress a llama—and while you’re at it, take a selfie with imagiNATIONS Activity Center resident Ande the llama.
