Join a tradition like no other: the annual Independence Day celebration at the National Archives in Washington, DC — home of the original Declaration of Independence. Boo the list of grievances against King George III, and cheer ‘Huzzah!’ as we declare our independence on the steps of the Archives, while enjoying a full day of family-friendly activities in our nation’s capital.
Stay tuned for schedule details including extended museum hours, the National Archives Store tent, public programming, special events, performances, and more!
Visit archivesjuly4.org to learn about the celebration and history of Independence Day.
July 4th at the National Archives is made possible in part by the National Archives Foundation with the generous support of
John Hancock, Dykema, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, and Boies Schiller Flexner.
