**Event date was moved from Saturday to Sunday because of the March For Our Lives march happening now**
We all know the 2017 Cherry Blossoms were a bust, so I'm really hoping that 2018 will be incredible!
Group photo is from the 2016 Cherry Blossoms.
Why the silly event name? Just to make it 100% clear that this is NOT an official event being thrown by the National Cherry Blossom Festival.
So bring yourself and a blanket and come have a picnic with new and old friends. All are welcome!
Date is based off my totally uneducated guess as of January 31st. Location is currently TBD but probably near the same spot as 2016 which was near the Jefferson Memorial).
Background info from Wikipedia about the cherry blossoms:
The National Cherry Blossom Festival is a spring celebration in Washington, D.C., commemorating the March 27, 1912, gift of Japanese cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo City to the city of Washington, D.C.
Mayor Ozaki donated the trees to enhance the growing friendship between the United States and Japan and also celebrate the continued close relationship between the two nations.
