The Austrian Cultural Forum, the Embassy of Austria Washington, and Forum Theatre present the first performance of this American translation of Surfacing (Auftauchen) as a part of International Women’s Voices Day, sponsored by National New Play Network and the New Play Exchange®, as a part of the 2018 Women’s Voices Theater Festival.
Join us for this staged reading of «Surfacing» written by Julya Rabinowich, one of Austria’s most exciting female playwrights. A unique play about our invisible people – alive, yet not present in everyday life: a mother seeking asylum, a young man hiding from blood-revenge, a young woman kidnapped and locked up in a basement. This powerful play captures loneliness and hope though voices that been ignored for too long.
All tickets are pay-what-you-can at the door.
