Dee Lucas:

National recording artist and saxophonist Dee Lucas has been steadily growing his brand and fan base beginning with Remembrance in 2004, a tribute to the late legend George Howard. Thereafter, it has been a steady showcase of unique stylings with Something to Ride 2 (2007), Standing Room Only (2010), Rebirth of the Smooth (2012), The Smooth Factor (2014), & Going Deeper (2016).

Now, his latest EP project The Sweet Spot (2017) serves as a reminder to the contemporary jazz world that Dee Lucas is here to stay.

Tony Exum, Jr.:

Recording Artist Tony Exum, Jr. saxophone style brings to mind the sultriness of Grover Washington, Jr., the soulfulness of David Sanborn, the silky smoothness of George Howard, and the tender passion of Ronnie Laws. After releasing two sensational recordings titled 'Finally' and 'The One', Tony began sharing stages with the Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, Gail Johnson, Aysha, Troop, Nick Collionne, Gerald Albright, Dave Hollister, Norman Connors, Paul Taylor, Pamela Williams and Dave Koz. As a live performer, Exum’s smile and sense of humor

He exudes the unique chemistry of passionately sedu ctive soul, flirtatious solos reminiscent of old school R&B, all while bringing his captive audience to their feet as he teases them with (instrumental) battles with fellow band members. Exum commands the stage as if he owns it, while remaining humble, and always willing to share the stage with other industry greats.

Phillip ‘Doc’ Martin:

Most artists who put a “Doc” in their name do it out of cleverness, for marketing reasons, or as a crafty way to express their mastery of their instrument or vibe. Since the release of his 2003 debut Saxappeal, Phillip “Doc” Martin has all that down pat, wowing audiences everywhere from Blues Alley in D.C. to the St. Lucia Jazz Festival and the Catalina Island JazzTrax Festival and earning inspiring amounts of airplay (including on XM Watercolors and The Weather Channel) for tracks like “Deep Pockets” and the title track from his 2009 set Realization. His latest Inner vision Records release Pocket Love further establishes this powerful expertise via his dynamic flow and tight, funky old school driven alto vibe.

As Martin continued to hone his skills, he became influenced by influential sax players from across the traditional and smooth spectrum, including Charlie Parker, Everette Harp, Grover Washington Jr., Dave Koz and Gerald Albright. In addition to his acclaimed discography (which includes the 2007 set Pride and Joy), his appeal as a live performer has secured him shows at prominent venues like Ram’s Head Tavern in Annapolis, Maryland, Philadelphia’s Dell East and SoCal’s Spaghettini, in addition to appearances at the Bahamas Jazz Festival, Carolina Music Festival, Trenton Jazz Festival and Berks Jazz Fest.
