MARCH'S INK: THE UTOPIAN PROJECTS
Come with us to see the magical models of Ilya and Emilia Kabakov's «The Utopian Projects» at the Hirshhorn Museum, followed by coffee and conversation at the newly opened Dolcezza cafe in the building.
Here's more detailed information about «The Utopian Projects:»
«Spanning the years between 1985 and the present day, The Utopian Projects features more than twenty of the Kabakovs' maquettes and whimsical models… These elaborate creations are brought to life by the eccentric, imaginary characters that inhabit them, inviting the viewer into a miniature surreal world while simultaneously offering a rare glimpse into the duo's artistic process. Lights, motors, text, and music enhance the whimsy and theatricality of each miniature environment, which the Kabakovs use to reinforce the metaphorical meaning of the work.»
We'll be dressed in our Sunday best (Rorschach t-shirts and inkblot buttons) and meet everyone at the Independence Ave. entrance to the museum.
WHAT IS OTHER PEOPLE'S INK?
Rorschach Theatre's aesthetic is a unique blend of dark magic, bold use of space and a signature fierce performance style. What other artists, in other mediums speak to this aesthetic?
The Rorschach Team organizes monthly events where our artists and audience can come together to explore art galleries, cinema, author events and other adventures that feature work with a Rorschach flavor: Other People's Ink.https://rorschachtheatre.com/other-peoples-ink/
