We all have fascinating characters in our family history. In this 5-week writing workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to turn those funny, dramatic, or heart-wrenching stories that have been passed down through generations into a book, memoir, or essay.
As an introductory course, this workshop is for writers who are early on in their idea or process, even those who haven’t yet put pen to paper. Although this workshop emphasizes creative non-fiction writing, many of the tools and techniques covered apply to fiction writing as well.
This workshop is presented in conjunction with Iron & Coal — World Premiere by Jeremy Schonfeld, May 3 and 4 at Strathmore. Iron & Coal explores Schonfeld’s look at his father’s life as shaped by time spent in Auschwitz during the Holocaust.
