Jaguar Wright and bassist Gerald Veasley bring their salute to Nina Simone to Blues Alley. Jaguar is a Renaissance woman, as comfortable performing with rap mogul Jay Z as she is with jazz drummer, Terri Lynn Carrington. Veasley is well regarded as an established recording artist and versatile bassist, who learned balance between tradition and innovation from his mentors Grover Washington and Joe Zawinul. The group is rounded out by stand-out talents pianist Aaron Graves and drummer Marcus Myers. Together they present the songbook in arrangements that are fresh yet maintain the power of the originals.
