Be the first to see Dailey’s Odyssey as Atlas Obscura and Dupont Underground present the opening of this new exhibit.
Renowned local artist Brian Dailey is known globally for his immersive digital work. Famously, he quite literally lit up Times Square in February 2015 with his installation «Jikai,» featuring a moth fluttering around a lightbulb.
In this former underground trolley station, experience Dailey's expansive work while hearing from the man himself. He will be doing a short artist talk, along with a question and answer session. Afterwards, local musicain Terence Nicholson of Thaylobleu will perform live as attendees will be able to wander and experience at their own pace. A cash (or card) bar will be available with a selection of beer and wine.
So, make a night of it by grabbing a drink at the underground bar and grooving to the genre-busting tunes of Thaylobleu while immersing yourself in Dailey's work.
Meet at the 19th Street entrance of Dupont Underground (next to Starbucks), marked by a bright red below-surface staircase.
A bar (cash and card) will be available, so please have your I.D. handy.
There's a significant amount of walking on fairly uneven surfaces, so please wear appropriate shoes and bring water.
Street parking can be tough in and around Dupont Circle, so we recommend taking Metro (red line).
