The Alejandro Escovedo Band headlines the Think About the Link 12-city tour beginning January 13, in Austin, TX, presented by Prevent Cancer Foundation, for special night at long-time favorite The Hamilton.
Alejandro and a stellar special guest band will perform his 2001 album “A Man Under the Influence” in its entirety. Featuring Chris Stamey, the North Carolina luminary who produced that album, serving as music director. Stamey is publishing a memoir next April with University of Texas Press. The band includes iconic producer Mitch Easter (R.E.M.) and frontman of Let’s Active; noted pedal steel and electric guitarist Eric Heywood (The Pretenders), plus long-time Escovedo band drummer Hector Munoz, and bassist Mike Luzecky.
In partnership with Prevent Cancer Foundation®, the Think About the Link® tour will raise awareness of the Foundation’s educational campaign about the connection between certain viruses and cancer, thinkaboutthelink.org of which Escovedo is a spokesperson. As a hepatitis C survivor, Escovedo hopes to raise awareness about the link between hepatitis C and liver cancer.
