In Order to Live You Gotta Give: Discernment and Franciscan Spirituality
Speaker: Fr. Agustino Torres, C.F.R.
Fr. Agustino Torres, C.F.R. is president and founder of Corazon Puro and Latinos por la Vida, which are nonprofit apostolates dedicated to forming Latino youth and young adult leaders who are building a Culture of Life. He hosts the EWTN Español television show “Clic con Corazon Puro,” and translates and interprets for EWTN Español at special events, such as World Youth Day and the March for Life. Fr. Agustino also founded Catholic Underground, a cultural apostolate of the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal; Casa Guadalupe, a house of prayer, healing, and discernment for women; and JPII house, a house of prayer, healing, and discernment for men. Fr. Agustino serves the Archdiocese of New York on the Hispanic Advisory Board, the Young Adult Outreach Board, and serves as the Region II Process and Program committee head for the V Encuentro of the USCCB. Fr. Agustino has accompanied many youth and families to become flourishing, Christ-centered missionary disciples in the Church. Through this accompaniment, he has seen firsthand the impact that an integrated view and practice of sexuality can have on young people. Fr. Agustino is internationally sought to address topics like the Church’s teachings about human sexuality, vocational discernment, and missionary discipleship, among other topics.
