5TH ANNUAL NATIONAL VIGIL FOR ALL VICTIMS OF GUN VIOLENCE
December 14, 2017 is the 5-year mark of the Sandy Hook tragedy. Since that heartbreaking day in Newtown five years ago, 500,000 Americans have been killed or injured by guns and there have been over 1,500 mass shooting incidents in America. We urge you to join us in our effort to continue to shine a light on the devastating epidemic of gun violence in our nation until these gun deaths and injuries are reduced.
The victims, survivors and the families impacted by gun violence are often forgotten. Therefore, the Newtown Foundation, the charitable arm of the Newtown Action Alliance, in partnership with Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, Everytown Survivor Network, Faiths United to Prevent Gun Violence, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, Organizing for Action, States United to Prevent Gun Violence, St Marks Episcopal Church will host the annual national vigil service of mourning and loving remembrance for all who have fallen victim to the ongoing epidemic of gun violence in America on December 6th and nationwide vigils/events in the month of December.
The 5th annual national vigil service will be held on December 6th from 7:00-9:00PM at St. Marks Episcopal Church on Capitol Hill in Washington D.C. This national service will anchor the Nationwide Vigils to #EndGunViolence throughout the 50 states during the month of December. Please find a local vigil near you here: foundation.newtownaction.org/2017/11/01/2017-nationwide-vigils-events-endgunviolence/
NATIONWIDE VIGILS TO #EndGunViolence:
We are looking for faith, gun violence prevention, social justice, LGBTQ and other organizations or advocates to hold a local vigil/event in their towns and cities in December. Our goal is to unite the movement, continue to raise awareness, educate, and keep this critical issue front and center throughout our nation.
Please complete this form (http://bit.ly/2017NationwideVigilRegistration) to host a vigil or an event in your town or city and we will send you the 2017 National Vigil Toolkit to facilitate your planning and to coordinate our collective gun violence prevention message.
