Bikram Yoga Riverdale Park
6202 Rhode Island Ave, Ste 200, Riverdale Park, Maryland 20737
Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation and a healing and restorative practice that allows people to recognize the underlying peace of mind that is always present amidst all changing circumstances in life. During Yoga Nidra, we will explore and develop intention, experience body sensitivity training, experience breath and energy awareness, as well as develop systematic neutralization of negative body sensations, stress, feelings, emotions and beliefs, images and memories. People who practice Yoga Nidra regularly report improved personal relations, increased energy levels, increased sense of control in their lives, more confidence and joy in their lives, and a greater sense of peace and well-being.
About the teacher: Aime Adams (RYT200, LMT)
Aime’s background is varied, and includes over a decade of experience as a certified Massage Therapist, an Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) certified Health/Nutrition Counselor, a certified Classical Hatha Yoga/Meditation Instructor from the Sivananda lineage, a Blooma Minnesota trained Prenatal Yoga Instructor, and a Birth Doula. One of Aime's most notable experiences in healing so far was providing her therapeutic massage services at The White House in Washington D.C. for a former United States President and family members.
Some of the major influences for Aime’s healing skills came from her yoga training on Paradise Island in the Bahamas, visits to Kaua’i and The Big Island in Hawai’i, and the two years spent living/working/traveling in Latin America (Mexico), in an International Relations position with the USG.
Aime honors the simple philosophy that “the body is wise”, meaning that symptoms and sensations in the body are our best teachers. She is deeply committed to assisting people with Yoga Nidra to shine awareness on their experiences in order to find ways of shifting towards a more nourishing way of life that focuses on reconnection to the true self.
Aime is currently earning her Master’s degree in Oriental Medicine at Maryland University of Integrative Health (MUIH). In her leisure time, Aime enjoys studying Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine, Ayurveda, and practicing yoga in all of it’s many forms (postures, meditation, and music), swimming, organic baking, domestic and foreign travel, especially visits to the ocean.
