Participate in an urban gardening project at the museum and be part of a larger project the museum hopes will become a “permanent” museum garden! This 3-part series of hands-on workshops will be lead by gardening expert, landscape designer, educator and entrepreneur, Derek Thomas. You might know Derek as the “Garden Guy” on WTTG Fox 5 TV. The second and third workshops will build upon the workshop before it. Sign up today for this first workshop in the series. Or sign-up for all three! The remaining two workshops are September 23 and November 18. This program sponsored in part by DC Tours and Transportation, and
Ed's Plant World.

WORKSHOP #1:
Constructing a Raised Garden Planter Bed
Participants gain hands on experience on how to construct a raised garden planter bed that can be used for ornamental or vegetable gardening. Learn about construction soils, irrigation, and implementation of vegetables.
