Three distinguished writers will read plus open reading.
KATHLEEN HELLEN is the author of «Umberto's Night» (WWPH, 2012) and two chapbooks, «The Girl Who Love Mothra» and «Pentimento». Her work has twice been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, and she is a past recipient of an MASC Individual Artist Award for Poetry and the Washington Square Review Poetry Prize. Her poems have appeared in reviews such as Barrow Street, The Nation, North American Review, Poetry East, Prairie Schooner,
and Southern Poetry Review, among others. She lives and teaches in Baltimore.
MIKE MAGGIO writes poetry, fiction and non-fiction. His current book is a novella, «The Appointment» (Vine Leaves Press, 2017). In recent years, he has published poetry collection, «Garden of Rain» (2015) and a novel, «The Wizard and the White House» (Little Feather Books, 2014). His other collections include «The Keepers» (March Street Press, 2011), «deMOCKcracy» (Plain View Press, 2007), «Sifting Through the Madness» (Xlibris, 2001)
and «Oranges from Palestine», Mardi Gras Press, 1996). His poems, stories and reviews have appeared in journals such as Potomac Review, The Montserrat Review, Pleiades, Apalachee Quarterly, Pig Iron and Beltway Quarterly, among others.
JENNIFER MERRIFIELD is the author of «American Proper» (March Street Press, 2008) and the Managing Editor of Backbone Mountain Review. She was featured as an emerging writer in Natural Bridge, and her poetry received the Columbia Poetry Prize and the 42opus Editor's Select Prize. Her work has
appeared in numerous reviews including Fourteen Hills, Harpur Palate and the Chattahoochie Review. Currently an Associate Professor of English at West Virginia University--Potomac State, she lives in Frostburg MD.
