Books and Breakfast DC is a monthly event designed to increase childhood literacy, self-esteem, cultural and political awareness in our youth. To achieve these goals, we provide youth with free books which feature characters that mirror the likeness of themselves, a free and healthy breakfast, positive role models, plenty of hugs & encouragement and an increased knowledge of their rich culture and history.

Our theme for August wil be: Health in the Hood. Nurse Patti of The Lafontant Fondation, and other healthcare professionals will be on site to help us improve our eating habbits and discuss common illness in our community including diabetes, high blood pressure, and kidney disease. Let's get healthy y'all.
To help keep their young minds engaged and intrigued, we mix in art, music and dance including appaerances from local hip-hop artist.
Books and Breakfast DC is both fun and educational for the entire family. Please come through and help us Spread Knowledge and Build Community!!!
