Let's Welcome Team Palestine to Washington, D.C.! There are three Palestinian students and their adult mentor coming to D.C. to participate in the inaugural International Robot Olympics. These students have spent the last few months learning about programming and engineering with the goal of building a robot that will compete in the FIRST Global Challenge 2017. Over 160 nations, each sending one team, will be participating this year, and we are very excited to have Palestine in attendance.

We want to make this a special event for Team Palestine, and that starts with getting the community involved. We invite you to attend our opening ceremony on July 16 to come out and cheer them on! The team will take the stage during the opening procession proudly waving the Palestinian flag, and it would be incredible for these kids to see a crowd of Palestinian-Americans waving a flag back at them.

Bring the family, make signs, and above all be ready to cheer on Team Palestine. Please RSVP here so we can get a general sense of numbers, but of course, day-of arrivals are welcome as well. We hope to see you there!
