— Watch, learn, and dance at this community celebration of National Dance Day! Launched in 2010 by The Dizzy Feet Foundation (co-founded by So You Think You Can Dance’s Nigel Lythgoe and Adam Shankman) and Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, National Dance Day encourages Americans to embrace dance as a fun and positive way to maintain good health. Come as you are and soak up the summer with dancing, music, food, and more in the heart of the nation’s capital. Learn the official National Dance Day routine here: bit.ly/1qBL1eU

2 p.m. — National Dance Day activities
National Dance Day will feature special guest dancers, interactive dance lessons, and performances in a wide variety of dance styles, all hosted by WUSA 9’s news anchor and multi-Emmy Award® winner Andrea Roane. The official National Dance Day routine for this year’s event will be led by Top 20 So You Think You Can Dance contestant Tony Bellissimo. Acclaimed choreographer/director/producer Adam Shankman (Hairspray; the Step Up franchise) will also join the D.C. festivities.

6 p.m. — A special Millennium Stage performance in the Grand Foyer

7:30 p.m. — Dancing Under the Stars
