She insisted, resisted, and persisted — In Memphis, Tennessee,1892, from the pages of her newspaper The Free Speech [and Headlight], journalist Ida B. Wells launches a blistering and unrelenting crusade against lynching and racial injustice. September 13, The Hill Center will host a special presentation of scenes from Michon Boston's play «Iola's Letter: The Memphis Crusade of Ida B. Wells,» followed by a discussion with the playwright and special guests (TBA) about the fascinating life of Ida B. Wells and the current state of investigative reporting and social justice journalism in a “post-truth” era.
