Fatalé- Femme De La Créme
Fatalé is a monthly house dance party at Tropicalia. Fatalé that aims to gravitate people of all backgrounds to the dance floor with the house music groove from Afro House, Jackin' house and more.
This April, we aim to make it rain with all the feel good grooves provided by DJ Diaspora, DJ Farrah Flosscett, DJ Fanci & DJ CYD.
DJ Diaspora Bio:
Dj diaspora started collecting records in her hometown Chicago, inspired by the underground deep house parties in the early 90s. After moving to the UK, she was blown away by West London's «broken beat» scene, and knew her mission as a DJ-- to share broken beat, and its influences, with the US. While DJing in Chicago, Philly, NYC, and DC, DJ Diaspora developed her eclectic blend of broken beat with Afrobeat, deep house, Latin beat, Brazilian jazz, disco, and nujazz, with a focus on the African diaspora (which most of broken beat's UK originators are from). Over the summer, DJ Diaspora had the honor of opening for Femi Kuti and the Positive Force at 9:30 Club.
DJ Farrah Flosscett
Farrah Flosscett made her DJ debut in Washington DC in January 2015, at a well known U Street staple for music — Velvet Lounge. She then continued along that path and spun for places such as 9:30 Club, Lost Society and Vida Penthouse Rooftop. She currently has residencies at Marvin, Heist and The W Hotel. Still early in her career, she has already been recruited to play at fashion shows and boutique store openings. She also was chosen by a young music artist, Townsend James, as his official Dj, and had the opportunity to perform with him for a massive festival in Trinidad and Tobago. Her musical history, which sparked from her Father's own DJ roots, jumps around to inhabit a blend of Funk, Soulful House, Future Bass/R&B, Nu Disco, Hip Hop and Classics.
DJ Fanci Bio:
A native Houstonian with a flair for fashion and ear for music, is taking the entertainment industry by storm. What began as “fun” at her college radio station in Nashville, Tennessee has grown into a lifestyle and career choice for the present day hostess and disc jockey. Shortly after graduating from Tennessee State University with a degree in Mass Communications, Fanci leaped into her entertainment career at Houston’s Hottest and #1 ranking Hip Hop Radio Station, 97.9 The Box.
Fanci’s energetic personality and chameleon-like musical talent allows her to connect diverse crowds through her artistry — attracting invitations to mix for highly acclaimed DJ’s, top radio stations across the country, world-renowned names in fashion and retail, charity and corporate events, nightclubs, celebrity parties, and even open concerts for award-winning musicians. From Hip- Hop & Old School to Top 40 & Vocal House, Fanci vibes with socialites of every age, nationality and gender.
In addition to her emerging career in entertainment, Fanci is currently expanding the “Fanci” brand to a web show and digital column geared toward building the self-esteem of young women struggling with defining and strengthening their identity. Dedicated to her brand, Fanci supports causes benefitting young women through her membership and affiliation with the I’m Me Foundation and Mia’s Closet.
DJ CYD Bio:
CYD has made a reputation for herself being a versatile DJ with high energy sets. She has been a DJ for 8 years playing for exclusive club venues, posh private events, highend fashion, underground deep house parties to throwback hip hop parties. These days most DJs are either EDM, House or Hip Hop, but she doesn't believe in labels. She can walk into any room and captivate her audience. There are not many DJs, male or female that can keep up with the sound she puts out from the DJ booth.
