A bit about John Adams' background:

John Adams was born and raised in Chesterfield County, Virginia, where he attended local public schools and met his future wife, Lisa. Even at a young age, John was drawn to public service, serving as a volunteer firefighter in Midlothian during high school.

Inspired by that passion, he attended the Virginia Military Institute where he graduated as a Distinguished Graduate with a degree in Economics in 1996. At graduation, he received his commission as a United States Naval Officer. Like his father, who served in the U.S. Army in Korea, John began his military service in the Pacific. Based out of Pearl Harbor, John deployed to the Middle East aboard an Aegis Cruiser. In his second tour, he returned home to Virginia, living in Virginia Beach and serving on a coastal patrol ship based in Little Creek. He deployed from there to Central America hunting down international drug smugglers on the high seas.

At the completion of his naval service, John attended the University of Virginia School of Law. After graduation, John and Lisa were married and they moved to northern Virginia to serve our country in a new role. There he attained clerkships with two of the most respected conservative judges in the country—first with Judge David Sentelle on the U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C., and then with Justice Clarence Thomas on the United States Supreme Court.

Following his time with Justice Thomas, John worked as an Associate White House Counsel for President George W. Bush while living in Arlington and starting his family with Lisa. They later returned home to the Richmond area, where John served as a federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s office, prosecuting violent criminals, white-collar felons and corrupt public officials.

Today, John is in private practice, where he leads a team of more than 50 lawyers in the United States and abroad. While in private practice, John has dedicated significant free legal services to causes he cares about. For example, he has filed numerous briefs in the Supreme Court on behalf of various clients on issues relating to religious liberty.

John and Lisa are raising their four sons—Thomas, Daniel, Andrew, and Henry—in the same Chesterfield Public Schools they attended. Lisa stays home with the boys, and she and John spend their time like a lot of parents of young families: shuttling kids to events at school, friends' homes, church, and soccer fields all across central Virginia.
