March 20 at Dew Drop Inn DC!

On March 20, the Lost Civilizations experimental music project (http://lost-civilizations.tumblr.com/), augmented by Leah Gage on drums (https://goo.gl/FKjQ3L) and Doug Kallmeyer on bass and electronics (https://goo.gl/x0hUij), returns to its residency at Dew Drop Inn DC (http://dewdropinndc.com/; goo.gl/maps/kYEuUWRFs8P2) for an evening featuring a set by The Dusty Stars (https://soundcloud.com/dustystarsuser437638979;
facebook.com/DustyStars/).

The Dusty Stars play powerfolk, a contemporary «Peoples' Music» all about taking a walk through the Now & Then.

This is not the folk music of the 20th Century but rather the evolving folk tradition of the 21rst Century here in the melting pot of the USA. The Dusty Stars occupy the space between folk & punk, between citybeat nightpop & sunshine field twang, between roses & corvettes, between slash & flash, between the briar & the road...

From the little river in their hearts they will ride the rapids down to the tranquil waters of upbeat, feel good music using guitar, bass, piano, drums & vocals.

This Is Powerfolk.

The Lost Civilizations experimental music project (http://lost-civilizations.tumblr.com/;http://goo.gl/WfSs5) is a collaboration between Mike Sebastian (tenor sax, saxello and baritone sax) and T. A. Zook (basscello). Although essentially a duo, when schedules permit, it is joined by Jerry Busher (drums); Doug Kallmeyer (bass and electronics); Sam Lohman (drums); Larry Gomez (percussion); Patrick Whitehead (flügelhorn and trumpet); Leah Gage (drums); Bob Boilen (ARP Synth) and Emily Chimiak (violin). This evening, the project will be augmented by Leah Gage on drums and Doug Kallmeyer on bass and electronics.

The music that comes through the Lost Civilizations experimental music project is unscored, unrehearsed and improvised extemporaneously on the spot. All performances are recorded and posted for free download.

This event is no cover/no minimum.
